In many respects, de Havilland's Tiger Moth is the link between early and modern aviation.
During WW2, this traditional wire-braced, fabric-covered biplane prepared thousands of Commonwealth airmen for flying the very latest all-metal fighters and bombers.
Geoffrey De Havilland designed several Great War aircraft for the Royal Aircraft Factory, before starting his own company. The Tiger Moth was the last of his incredibly successful 'Moth' line, which started with the DH.60 Cirrus Moth in 1925.
Nearly 9,000 Tiger Moths were built, including 1,070 here in Australia. Countless RAAF crew learned to fly in this historic type, at training stations across Australia.
You can read more about the Tiger Moth in our Aircraft section.
Open cockpit flying is a unique way to see the world and appreciate yesterday's pilots. It really feels like you're part of the plane, part of the air and part of history.
Each Tiger Moth flight includes a comprehensive presentation on the aircraft and its history by your experienced pilot. You will then wear the authentic helmet and goggles to fully enjoy your flight. There are plenty of photo ops and a free viewing area for friends and family.
Soaring up to 2,000 feet and swooping as low as 500, you'll be treated to spectacular views from Bribie Island to the Glasshouse Mountains – and just know people on the ground are looking up with envy as you fly past!
Formation flights include two matching aircraft with plenty of opportunities to wave, signal and take photographs of your friend in the other plane.
